Had an interview this past Monday with a local credit union and got a call from them. I’ve been offered a job! Start the 31st. I’ve been wanting to get back into banking for a while now and finally had the opportunity to do so. Time to celebrate!

Honest question, what makes a person want to get into banking?

I was in for a year and a half and spent approximately a year and a half of that time trying to get out.
Different strokes, though.

It’s not that bad. Once you get away from the day to day branch stuff. The back office is alright. I finance commercial and residential real estate, some car dealerships. It’s interesting stuff. To me I guess...

Banking is a very broad industry with a ton of different subsects. There really is something for everyone.

Thanks! I did it from 09-13 and should have stayed in it, but can’t worry about that now.

It’s not for everyone. I will say that. Part of why I liked it was the people. You get to know a lot of different personalities. It’s a fairly secure job if you stick with it. I did it for 4 years and left in 2013, only to regret it.

Thanks! It is called FSR, but basically it is a universal banker. Opening accounts, taking loan applications, etc. It’s a step back in the door to work towards becoming a loan officer.
